This was our last market of the year - we managed to have a few pounds of sweet potatoes and fresh Arbol Chile to sell in addition to our kidney beans and popcorn.
We are planning to sell starter plants next April - we've already started getting ready for that, so look forward to starter chile and tomato plants and maybe some flowers, herbs and sweet potatoes too! See you in the Spring.

We will have a few tomatoes at the market this week thanks to the recent heatwave - get them before they're gone! Our sweet potatoes are also selling fast. They can easily be stored for a month if you keep them in a dark room like a closet so consider picking up everything you need for Thanksgiving in the next week or two!

Our first produced product is ready for the market. It is a high sugar content Jam made with Garden Huckleberries. The berries are unique because they taste bland and pasty raw. Cooking takes out the flavors that mask the berry's real sweetness and this jam is incredible! Our best description is an intense flavor, a mix of grape and blueberry. We had to go through a certification program to get our food handler's certificate in order to make this under the New Mexico Home Food Act. Its only been since 2021 that the state allowed products like this to be made at home for sale.
To make your own 16 oz jar from 1 pint of our Garden Huckleberries, here is the recipe we used chucklin huckleberry jam

Just in time for this weekend's harvest fair, our strawberry popcorn is finally ready! It has a slight nutty flavor that really sets it off from store-bought popcorn. But it doesn't come easily - here is the shucking station - it took two hours to get all the popcorn off the ears.

Many of our Tomato plants have stopped producing, but not the Roma varieties!
We have started to pick our Sweet Potatoes. They are available now at the market. Our sweet potatoes have been cured for 10 days before we sell them. Our varieties are:
Centennial: Orange flesh, most well known variety - makes great fries!
Georgia Jet: Orange flesh, great baked
Beauregard: Red-copper flesh, a favorite in pies
Stokes: Purple flesh, great all around sweet potato for baking, steaming or roasting. High in antioxidents
We continue to have sweet peppers and spicy peppers setting fruit on the plants, but not as rapidly as July - the season is wrapping up soon.
The fresh spicy peppers that don't sell fresh we sell dehydrated.
